Loved spending time at Barrington tops earlier this year. A serene place to go when u want peace and quiet under the stars.
The nights spent star gazing I will never be able to forget.
Got to watch some wildlife and the most beautiful waterfall up close.
What a diverse range of fauna and flora. Remarkable change in different landscapes while travelling from Gloucester - everything Australia is (except desert) from rolling green hills, almost uninhabited valley to sub-tropical forest to snow country - all in a half day.
Great place for a stay or just a bush walk.
So good I brought the family back. Someone has to let people know that running a generator all night is not socially acceptable.
Wonderful alpine woodland and ancient Gondwana rainforest. Lots of native orchids and Birdlife present.
A long drive from Newcastle with a fair portion of unsealed road but well worth the journey. We parked at Gloucester Falls Picnic area and did the loop walk to Andrew Laurie lookout and Gloucester Falls lookout. There’s also a detour to walk down the falls that can easily be easily missed.
A beautiful escape from reality! With little to absolutely no reception and hours between the mountain and next service station. This place is a perfect retreat to nature.
The roads are for the most part gravel and can be scary to navigate. But you can camp in several locations, trail blaze and even spot the occasional brumby. There are several lookouts.
The occasional pit stops provided.the views are amazing!
Drive by car not in a bus there are very few viewing spots to stop & enjoy the scenery.
Road a bit tricky on the gravel on west side.
Horses and weeds are out of control, very sad to see.
Beautiful mountain streams and rainforest! Birds everywhere! Even a lyrebird crossed our path. Great walks to lookouts and river, filled with all kinds of mosses and ferns.
Did the family friendly loop trail and enjoyed it! There are Leeches so better go with proper preparation. Ok for kids above 4 as long as they are fit for a little adventure. Can get in to the river at the mid point of the loop and the water is crystal clear.
Take a 4wd and explore Barrington Tops. The main roads and tracks are pretty well maintained. Plenty of great camp spots with decent amenities. Magnificent views at every turn from trails and lookouts. Go in winter for the day or in summer …
